In response to Thingverse censoring weapon related files, the folks at Defense Distributed have begun hosting the files themselves. Then, to do it one better, they made a 30 round mag for and AR15 and released it as a CAD file on their servers as well as a distributed torrent file. A Torrent file, for those that don't know, is a way of distributing a file(s) across many machines. Then, with each initiated download from your computer, you receive small bits of the file from the many machines and then re-assembles the file on your machine. This makes for faster downloads and less bandwidth used by each of the distributed machines. It's also damn near impossible to trace. In other words, the AR15 30 round clip is out there and it is going to stay out there.
