Chinese company uses massive printer to 3D print five-storey apartment building

A high- tech construction company out of China has achieved the honor of being the first to construct an entire five-storey apartment building along with an 11,840 square foot villa via a 3D printer.

WinSun’s printer is impressive in its own right, standing 20 feet high and 132 feet wide and uses industrial waste as printer material. They plan to build 100 recycling plants around China in order to keep up building demands.

According to the FoxNews article, the individual parts needed for the buildings are made in large chunks at WinSun’s base. To meet standard building codes, the structures are fortified by steel reinforcements and wall insulation.
