New functions available in the SSX3 include automatic stereoscopic color matching, improved disparity map generation and depth budget adjustment tools, as well as numerous optimizations resulting in render times being reduced by as much as 50%.
Key new features of the SSX3 include:
• Color matching plugin for automatic matching of image histograms, providing a choice of which eye to match to.
• Disparity Map manipulation tools, for refining disparity maps.
• Improved Wizards for fast project setup
• Image weighting options for newly created views, which allows artists the option of choosing the ‘good eye’ for focus matching issues, or the issues that arise when creating new views for complicated backgrounds.
• A revolutionary depth LUT manipulator tool, providing artists the ability to not only change overall scene depth, but to change the depth of individual objects within a scene. This truly unique feature will revolutionize visual effects work in stereoscopic films, both for removing the ‘cut out’ effect sometimes seen in S3D material, but also for placement of CG elements in stereoscopic scenes.
