The World of Diving in an online Multi-Player, Virtual Reality game that brings you all the joy and excitement of diving, without awkwardly squeezing into a wetsuit.
World of Diving is in the "Early Entry" or Beta stage of development. Meaning it is not a complete environment yet and the designers are counting on community help for input and further development. That said, WoD looks very promising even at the most recent version of 0.17.10.
The game offers both single and multi-player (up to 4 players) options. You can dive for the simple relaxation of it interacting with sea life and collection items - But watch out for the Great White! Or you can train yourself by dealing with real like scenarios like equipment malfunctions. The multiplayer environment has a number of scenarios and arcade challenges that you can play or even dive wreck to compete for sunken treasure. Currently, you can dive the wreck of a U352, The Bismark, SS Yongala and The HMS Tranquility.
Your profile avatar can be customized in many ways hair, face, items, etc and when you are happy with it, you can even click a button under your profile to have your avatar printed at the EUCL3D 3D printing service.
Diving, IMHO, makes perfect sense for a VR environment as the real life diving mask and VR headset offer very similar visual perspectives. This correlation leads to the environment having a natural, comfortable feel.
World of Diving is available on the HTC, Oculus, Vive and OSVR platforms and you can buy on Steam Or Oculus for $19.95.
