Compares it to the manufacturing version of Napster.
Not sure if it was a Christmas present or not, but talk show host Glen Beck got himself a new Makerbot and he is more than impressed with it. Beck ran though the making of a plastic shark and spoke to some of the forward looking social problems that 3D printing might bring about; Copyright issues, currency issues, guns.. etc.
He goes on to muse; "“Jobs (Not Steve) will come back to America because you’ll be able to make things again, remember this is early technology here,” he says. “However, those aren’t manufacturing jobs, they aren’t labor union jobs, they aren’t dolt jobs, per se. You will be able to make anything you need. So our economy in the entire world is turned upside down. You don’t need little slave children in China to make stuff. The Replicator 2000 will do it for you.”
