Unfold, based in Belgium, gathered information from designers and companies to answer some of their question on the future of 3D printing. According to Unfold, Kiosk is a project that explores a near future scenario in which digital fabricators are so ubiquitous, that we see them appear on street corners, just like fast food today is sold in NY style mobile food stalls. Which raises questions about how to protect ones products. Anyone who been to NYC looking at the Gucci bags on the sidewalk for 10 bucks, knows what they are talking about.
Anyhow, this is what they came up with - and I want one!
The Kiosk uses a BfB 3000 3D printer, a PicoScan 3D scanner, and SketchUp software for modeling (http://www.sketchup.com/)
