Keeping the force... er focus, on Episode VII.
Recently aquired LucasFilms anounced yesterday that they would postpone plans of releasing Star Wars II and III in 3D to concentrate on Episode VII.
"Lucasfilm has decided to postpone this fall's scheduled release of Star Wars Episodes II and III in 3D. Given the recent development that we are moving forward with a new Star Wars trilogy, we will now focus 100 percent of our efforts on Star Wars: Episode VII in order to ensure the best possible experience for our fans. We will post further information about our 3D release plans at a later date."
Star Wars: Episode I has already been released in 3D and it is assumed director J. J. Abrams will release the new Episode VII in 3D as well, so postponing the development of II and III could be setting up perhaps and series of movie releases or 3D box set for later in the franchise.
Speaking of J.J. Abrams jumping from the Star Trek (his is BY FAR the best Star Trek movie) for Star Wars has left Sci-fi fans with mixed emotions - and a musical muse.
